Frequently Asked Questions

Most women find the test uncomfortable but not painful. A thin catheter is placed in the bladder, which may cause mild discomfort. The test typically takes 30-45 minutes.

You'll be asked to arrive with a comfortably full bladder. Avoid caffeine on the day of the test. Continue your regular medications unless advised otherwise.

Urodynamics may be recommended when initial treatments haven't worked, before surgery for incontinence or prolapse, or when symptoms are complex or unusual.
